MY THOUGHTS

This was a five star read for me. James Kaine captures the feeling of a really good slasher movie without making it feel cheesy or over the top. The familiar slasher trips are all there and a ton of fun, but they are handled in a way that still feels sharp, tense, and genuinely fun.

What I especially loved was getting the individual stories of the different final girls and then watching those stories come together. Each one felt distinct enough to keep me invested, and the way everything eventually converged was really satisfying.

For me, this read like a thriller with the spirit of a slasher. It had the brutality and final girl energy I wanted, but it still felt well written and thoughtfully put together rather than just relying on shock value. I had a great time with it from beginning to end.
